Can air brush tanning cause down syndrome on babies if pregnant?

My co-worker is not sure if she's pregnant but she has an appointment today to get air-brushed tanning. Some one told her that with the tanning beds if pregnant, the baby might come out with down syndrome, but she is not sure if it's also possible with air brush!!Can air brush tanning cause down syndrome on babies if pregnant?
Downs Syndrome is caused by an extra chromosome. Not from tanning. Can air brush tanning cause down syndrome on babies if pregnant?
Air brushing is way different from a tanning bed. There are no UV rays for example. That is not to say that the chemicals that change your skin color are safe either. Most of us drink alcohol, use tanning beds etc before we know we're pregnant and the babies turn out fine. I would venture to say that air brushing would not cause down syndrome, especially if it is just once. However, she should still check in with either her doctor or the person spraying her tan- just to be sure.
No. Downs is a chromosome issue. Your friend is smart for opting for the spray tan. I live in a beach town and work for a dermatologist- skin cancer is so common nowadays.. Tell your friend not to be so paranoid, I swear- Some people think if you fart loud enough it will cause autism/Downs/cleft lip...
I highly doubt that the baby would get downs from that, considering it's a chromosomal effect. However, I was told by my doctors office not to spray tan because every chemical is absorbed into your skin so why even test it.
Tanning is not recommended, but plenty of people have done it and had healthy babies. As for ';air brush'; tan, that is perfectly safe.
I don't know, but those ARE kinda tacky and why whould you take the risk? If she REALLY wants it, she probably can just ask the people there.
no matter what dont ask us!!! tell her to definitly ask the tanning salone attndant they have to know that ****. I wouldnt even if they its ok...chemicals arnt good for us let alone an unborn baby. safety first :)
