Why do teeth stay yellow no mater how much you brush?

Another reason for yellow teeth other than neglecting oral hygiene. Teeth have pulp (the life center of the tooth) and the pulp's color (red) along with the dentin (which is yellow) helps to give our teeth the color we have, some people have very thick enamel where others do not. Remember there are thousands of shades of white. Perfectly white teeth really are not natural and can look like ';chiclets'; gum if you choose to have them veneered or bleached in an unnatural white shade. Why do teeth stay yellow no mater how much you brush?
There are different shades of ';white'; for teeth. Some teeth are more yellow colored than others. Some are stained by coffee, tea, foods etc and brushing usually doesn't completely remedy this. Some people have discolored teeth because they took certain medications as children (tetracycline). Why do teeth stay yellow no mater how much you brush?
its just the way they are. teeth whitening either bleaches your teeth or scratches off a thin layer so it looks white.its very harmful to them though. if your teeth are extremely yellow, just drink more milk. gotta have that iron!
we dont do it enough, or we dont floss everyday. its usually one of those factors. usually a case of gingivitis.

Which Makes More Sense When You Wake Up? Brush Your Teeth And Then Eat, Or Eat And Then Brush Your Teeth? Why?

I Brush And Then Eat....Morning Breath Doesn't Mix Well With My Breakfast...................Which Makes More Sense When You Wake Up? Brush Your Teeth And Then Eat, Or Eat And Then Brush Your Teeth? Why?
Rinse the mouth with a refresher when you wake up and brush your teeth after breakfast, never before.Which Makes More Sense When You Wake Up? Brush Your Teeth And Then Eat, Or Eat And Then Brush Your Teeth? Why?
Those who recommend brushing after breakfast has it right.

If you don't brush after breakfast, all the germs in the sticky white plaque will have an entire uninterrupted morning to sit there and rot away at your enamel, and make you more vulnerable to tooth decay.
Well this is a personal choice. You do what you like to. Many people prefer to brush and eat, while others do the opposite. It is all a habit. I have heard the benefits from both sides. My cousins on my mom's side like to eat and then brush. Those on my dad's side does the opposide. I personally think it is gross to eat and then brush, but it is still your choice on what you do. Do what you like and feel comfortable with. You should do what you think it is the best for you. Don't try to adapt the other way if you do not want to nor like it.
I eat and then brush so the milk from my cereal doesn't make my breath stinky all day.
eat first, then brush. When you eat any food it leaves sugars on your teeth and that starts an attack on the enamel. When you brush you are stopping the process, thus preventing cavities.
eat and then brush because 1st of all if u brush first u hve the taste of mint while u eat ur breakfast ,, yuck ;; and 2nd of all if u brush first and then eat u will hvee stinky breathe from the food u ate ,, dont forget to brush ur tongue thats where all the food gets stuck andd where bad breathe is made =]

Why do your gums bleed even if you don't brush hard?

My friend is having a problem with that and needs some helpWhy do your gums bleed even if you don't brush hard?
That is a sign of gingivitis. Your friend should be brushing 2-3 times per day. Using a soft bristled brush along the gumline, gently massaging in a circular motion. Also, they should be flossing at least once per day. Listerine rinses can also be helpful.

If your friend keeps up this routine, the bleeding should stop in 7-10 days. Why do your gums bleed even if you don't brush hard?
Your not suppose to brush hard. brushing hard only does more harm than good. If your not flossing regularly that could be your answer. Brushing twice a day with a soft / medium bristle tooth bush, in circular motions, 2 minutes each time should help. Along with flossing daily should make the bleeding subside!
maybe your friend has sensitive gums,or maybe he/she used to brush really hard, therefore making them sensitive.tell ur friend to try avoiding brushing the gums..see if it works,if not, have an appointment with a dentist!

Is it bad to brush your teeth multiple times a day (as in like 5 or 6)?

how many times a day should i opt to brush them then?Is it bad to brush your teeth multiple times a day (as in like 5 or 6)?
NO, it is perfectly fine. ideally, you should brush not only after meals but after having snacks as well. if you can't do it after snacking rinsing your mouth and chewing some gum can help but nothing beats brushing thoroughly.

it is not really the frequency of brushing that can damage teeth but the way you brush. toothbrush abrasion is caused by brushing with a horizontal stroke along the gumline at the cemento enamel junction (CEJ) because that is where the enamel (the hard covering of the tooth crown) ends and the cementum (the much softer part of teeth covering the roots). not doing this stroke equals no toothbrush abrasion along the CEJ.

you can use a scrubbing motion on the biting surfaces of your teeth. i recommend a sweeping motion starting at the gum area with a semi-circular motion of the brush by rotating your wrist. this way the bristles massage your gums and engage the areas between teeth in one motion. each surface should receive at least ten strokes each. the more often you thoroughly remove bacterial build-up on teeth, the more you reduce the risk for dental caries.

but because many people find it difficult to brush more often, brushing AT LEAST TWICE A DAY (morning and evening after meals) is the recommended MINIMUM. so, go ahead brush five times a day but brush the right way.Is it bad to brush your teeth multiple times a day (as in like 5 or 6)?
Brushing too often can actually cause your gums to recede. Sensitive teeth are a symptom of gum recession and over years this could cause you to actually lose your teeth. You shouldn't brush more than 2-3 times a day. Try rinsing with a non-alcohol based mouthwash instead when you feel the need to brush excessively. Also make sure you're getting the most out of your brushing by brushing for about 2 minutes each time and making sure you get all of the surfaces of your teeth. Don't forget to floss either, but don't do any of these excessively.

Make sure to cover your toothbrush - dont introduce it to any germs. Also leaving it in wet baggies or cases can cause bacteria...
Yes...the bristles on toothbrushes can wear away the enamel of your teeth and make your teeth more sensitive and more susceptible to bacterial decay...also, I'm not entirely sure, but it may also cause your gums to recede more, making your teeth look longer and older...you dont need to brush after every meal...rinsing your mouth out with clean water, chewing gum, and using mouthwash are all acceptable alternatives.
yes because i wears down your enamel and makes it sensitive and the it is really easy to get cavities and decay and gum disease i think you should brush your teeth 3 times a day at most it is just enough and does not wear down your enamel as fast hope i helped montana
not eaxctly. but if you brush that much everyday than it can wear away enamel and your teeth will look decayed. it is actually very common in the U.S. just keep it under a normal amount a day like 3-4 times a day.:)
Yes, it actually takes the enamel off your teeth and weakens them. I suggest brushing your teeth 3 times a day: after breakfast, after lunch, and after dinner.
it depends on the times of the day. if they are close together, it could be dangerous because it removes enamel from your teeth. If they are more spread throughout the day, it should be fine
yes, thats is way to many times a day. it could cause problems to ur teeth
Yes, it can wear away your enamel.

Why should I brush twice a day isn't once good enough?

u should actually brush and floss after every meal. our mouths house a bevy of bacterias that feed off the food residue and cause tooth decay. flossing is equally as important as brushing because when food is trapped between our teeth, decay can start on two teeth at once. we call that inter proximal caries. brushing and flossing twice a day is a good start. Why should I brush twice a day isn't once good enough?
You should brush as much as possible. There are hundreds of types of bacteria in your mouth that causes tooth decay, and bad breath. If you don't brush after eating and then you go to sleep, the food is breaking down on your teeth and the bacteria multiply and cause cavities. Scrape your tongue, brush the roof and sides of your mouth, and most importantly FLOSS also.

    Brush brush brush.

To answer your question, no it isn't good enough. Unless you want your teeth to fall out, then you don't have to spend 10 mins a day taking car of your own mouth. Why should I brush twice a day isn't once good enough?
My dentist tells me I should brush after breakfast, lunch, dinner AND right before I go to sleep. He also says I should floss twice a day and use mouthwash.

I ignore him. I've always brushed once a day and I'm fine.
Thoroughly cleaning your teeth (brushing and flossing) once a day will remove decay producing plaque.

But there is nothing like that just brushed feeling to give you confidence and help with bad breath..
My friend brushing twice a day is the best way to get rid of unhealthy bacteria in our mouths. Also if you don't brush at night, while you sleep you constantly have your mouth closed at least for 8 hours or so, so this is the perfect breeding ground for bacteria. But if you brush right before bed you reduce the number of harmful bacteria that defiantly going to build up my friend! P.S. Sneak in a 3rd time if possible too!

My friend says she uses a garden rake to brush her hair in the morning and it works well. Is this true?

I need the purpose and then I need to figure out literary devices to support the purpose. I can do that on my own, but I just cannot figure out the purpose. What is the PURPOSE of this story by Katharine Brush (';Birthday Party';)?
The Birthday Party shows unreliable narrator, you have to analyze the story.

It makes it sound like the man is hostile and rude but if you really go through it, it shows that it kind of plays two sides of the fence with an unreliable narrator.

The women walks in with a huge hat [looking for attention] and grabs a seat. The man is an ordinary man, meh. The waiters come out with a huge PINK cake. It sounds like the women is doing much for her husband, and is excited. He says something short yet hurtful and she bursts out in tears. Attention whore once again. It was a pink cake and the man wasn't looking for to much attention, and she seems to direct the attention to them.

Therefore when reading it, you may think at first, how rude of the man, what a dick. But analysis shows that hey, it wasn't really all his fault, the women was trying to make a scene. But we can't see this because unreliable narrator, the narrator is watching from afar and doesn't show the thoughts and emotions. What is the PURPOSE of this story by Katharine Brush (';Birthday Party';)?
I don't agree with aaron entirely. This woman isn't an attention whore when it comes to the crying. The passage specifically states that she is crying ';quietly and heartbrokenly and hopelessly'; implying that she doesn't want the attention for crying and she did not ';burst into tears'; as aaron states Report Abuse

Do you apply your liquid/cream foundation with a brush or fingers?

Ive always used my fingers to apply my foundation,

Is it best to apply it with a foundation brush though?

If you apply it with a brush does it stil give as much coverage or not?

Its just i thought if you applied it with a brush most of it would basically come off?

'Єℓℓє♥Do you apply your liquid/cream foundation with a brush or fingers?
Well if you do it with your fingers, you can get oil from your fingers on your face which I've heard isn't great (but I apply my foundation with fingers so I think it's a pretty good way). A sponge works out well too, but the bad thing about that is it can soak up a lot of your make-up wasting it. Also you would have to change your sponge out periodically because it can harvest bacteria. If you use a brush, it would probably be the most sanitary way to go because it would be easy to clean. The level of coverage depends on how light or thick you decide to apply. You can get the same level of coverage with a brush as you get with your fingers, it just may take longer to apply. Hope this helps!Do you apply your liquid/cream foundation with a brush or fingers?
Apply it with a foundation brush but you should buy different sizes of brushes for different areas of your face.if you are aplly some to your neck you should do it in stright lines so you dont get streaks,
id say its best to use fingers, just make sure you wash them before. ive tried a really good brush but it left stripes from the bristles, use a brush for concealer though. and sponges just suck up the foundation.

I can draw pretty good. I love the outdoors, would love to paint the woods, trees with all the beautiful colors and chip monks chewing the acorn on the log. Outdoors paintings. Would I have to go to school to learn or could I learn from doing? I want to paint, but have never even had brush in hand.?
I'm in your shoes right now. I've always wanted to paint but never even took a class or anything. So I bought the cheapest paints, some affordable brushes, and started painting on things like cardboard, matte board, poster board etc--just for practice.

I've got a lot to learn, but for me it was just easier to learn by doing. I say just pick up a cheap brush from a local hobby store, and see what happens. I want to paint, but have never even had brush in hand.?
It depends on your learning style. Do you learn by doing or by observation? I learn by observation and by reflection, so taking a class is essential for me. But I know people who just pick up a new hobby and work at it till they get it right.
You can learn from doing it yourself and

bad breath also comes from a poor digestive system
Most bad breath originates on the tongue. brush your tongue.
chew gum,eat breath mints. the doctor can prescribe something also.
If brushing and flossing aren't working I'd suggest checking with your dentist. You could have a problem with your teeth. Also go to your doctor. Digestion problems can affect your breath. You may have some sort of stomach problem which is coming up into your mouth.

They help detangle hair and control frizz.I wash my hair every day but my hair is constantly extremely tangly, no matter how much i brush it. HELP!!!!!!
It's common to have strand snags at the back of the neck, since a lot of the time they're caused by your hair rubbing against the collar of your shirt or sweater. The best place to take care of the tangles is in the shower. Before you shower, brush hair thoroughly, starting at the ends and working your way up to the roots. Once in the shower, wash and condition your hair, and use a wide toothed comt to work conditioner through your hair before rinsing it out. Finally, when you hop out of the shower, don't rub or twist your hair up in a towel to dry it, as this can cause new knots. Instead, blot hair with a towel until it feels damp, comb it through again, and let it air dry.

Also, I suggest using Pantene Pro-V Moisturizing Shampoo and Conditioner with vitamins to help revitalize your hair again. If your hair is dry or brittle, it will cause your hair strands to lock in with one another. Always carry a brush and a mini can of detangling and conditioning spray from Pantene Pro-V in your purse. It helps a lot.

I hope this helps! Good luck!

P.S.- To anybody who reads this, I will be willing to help you with my best if you e-mail me. I'm open to what I can do!~
Ask your stylist or go to a drug store and look in the hair section!
Tangly as in ';difficult to brush,'; or tangly as in ';does not look straight?'; If it's the first one, do you swim, or play other sports? (Swimming in the ocean/pools tends to affect hair negatively in general); try washing your hair MORE often, but with LESS shampoo and more conditioner (washing more often will prevent your hair getting oily because of this).n Hope that helps, and Good luck!

Every other day or so to prevent mats, hairballs and sheddign all over the place. How often should i brush my cat that has medium length hair?
i simply brush mine when she's shedding alot.

there realy isn't a specific amount or time period. How often should i brush my cat that has medium length hair?
I would say every few days, as needed. If you're cat is tolerant enough, try to bathe it once a month or so. A lot of people will say a cat cleans itself, but trust me - they make cat shampoo for a reason. Your cat will groom itself for the remainder of the day after a bath, and will feel a lot beetter too!
The more you brush her, the more she'll love you :-)
I would say every other day. Short haired cats you could wait longer, but since most cats enjoy this anyway, why not? You certainly don't want hair all over or the poor thing throwing up hair balls.
    At least once a day.

Can I brush my teeth in public bathroom ? Does it disturb you to see anybody brushing teeth in public place ?

Not me personally, some people might get ancy about it but i think it is perfectly acceptable...better than going around with bad breath...right.Can I brush my teeth in public bathroom ? Does it disturb you to see anybody brushing teeth in public place ?
Yes, and no it doesn't disturb me to see someone brush their teeth in a public place. That's just silly. I say, go for it!Can I brush my teeth in public bathroom ? Does it disturb you to see anybody brushing teeth in public place ?
Well, I've never seen anyone brush their teeth. People might think you're disgusting or something. But unless you care what others think, I think it's okay for you to brush your teeth in the publicc toilets. Tell you what, I once saw someone come out naked, and she was aboout 20 something. If people can come out naked, why can't you brush your teeth?
That is what the sink is for-anything like that. Just don't drop the toothbrush.
doesnt bother me....ive seen many people do it....n it doesnt matter....you should just do what suits you....dont be concerned about people around u....live for yourself
It doesn't disturb me, but I don't know about other people(:
    No, i doesn't disturb me.
Yeah a bit. but this should not deter you from taking care of your teeth,
Because society thinks something isn't appropriate doesn't make it law. Brush your teeth... Its no different than g strings on the beach, public breast feeding, fat men with-out shirts, etc. If I was to see you brushing in public, my thought would be. That person is clean.
It shouldn't offend anyone, but does sometimes. That is what restrooms are for, among other things of coarse. I've had people ask me for floss when they see me flossing.
Of course you could. I do it. It is not disgusting for me and it inspires me to brush my teeth more often. It looks really hygienic ,too and I think it is cool. I think there is nothing wrong about brushing your teeth in a public bathroom as long as its in the bathroom... Well, its good to hear about people who are aware about what others will feel and how he/she looks...or smells. :-)

Thats my question and would be happy to see the answers pouring in a large number with correct explanations.

thanksHow long should one Brush his teeth in the morning ?
as a dental hygienist for 20 years , i recommend that people brush for 2 minutes, 2-3 times a day.In that 2 minutes you need to brush all tooth surfaces. Most people don't realize that 2 minutes can be a long time.Every hygienist I know recommends the same thing.Of course you need to floss at least once a day.Rinsing is good afterward, too. If you are not a young kid anymore and you don't get a lot of cavities you could use an antibacterial rinse, not fluoride. How long should one Brush his teeth in the morning ?
People generally say ';2 minutes,'; but you could brush only the front teeth for 2 minutes and forget to brush the rest!

For me, time is irrelevant when it comes to my oral care. I brush my teeth until the FEEL clean. You have to be the judge of that. When you are done brushing, run your tongue around the fronts and backs of your teeth. If you feel any rough patches, brush again and be sure to concentrate on the rough area.

Also, flossing is a MUST. For proper oral Hygiene, you should floss at least one a day. I floss after every time I brush. The floss can reach into places that a tooth brush simply can not reach.

Also, after you have brushed and flossed, be sure to use an alcohol free, fluoride mouth wash. This will help strengthen your teeth and give you fresh clean breath!

It may sound like a lot... and it is! But I would rather take the time to take care of my smile then have it all fall out :(

I can brush my teeth, check my teeth, brush them again if needed, thoroughly floss, and use mouth wash in about 10 minutes (5 minutes if I am in a hurry). If you are just starting to properly take care of your teeth and forming good habits, it may take you 15 or 20 minutes! But practice makes perfect, young grasshopper!

    Take care.
2 mins with an electric toothbrush is the standard.

I would say about 3 with a regular toothbrush.
u should brush at least 3 to 4 minutes in the morning . brushing for more time also leads to the loss of enamel which may cause severe ake in the teeth
    3-4mins

Are you supposed to brush your teeth before or after eating in the morning?

Brush whenever. The point of brushing is to disturb the bacterial growth, it has less to do with food removal ( though that makes life more pleasant for our friends and coworkers). Are you supposed to brush your teeth before or after eating in the morning?
BRUSH AFTER YOU EAT.Are you supposed to brush your teeth before or after eating in the morning?
after...why would you brush and then eat right after...it defeats the purpose!
Both...do you know how much bacteria accumulates while you are sleeping...ewww You don't really want to eat with that in your mouth!
You can just use mouthwash before you eat breakfast...since I assume you just woke up, and you can actually brush them after you eat.
    After. Duh! 8)

Should you brush your teeth then use mouth wash or use mouth wash and brush your teeth?

and why in that orderShould you brush your teeth then use mouth wash or use mouth wash and brush your teeth?
brush your teeth first then use mouthwash...Should you brush your teeth then use mouth wash or use mouth wash and brush your teeth?
Depends on the type of mouthwash.

For bleaching/whitening mouthwash, it should be done prior to brushing, as brushing will then remove any lingering hydrogen peroxide.

For fluoride and/or breath cleaning mouthwashes, it should be done after brushing, so that the fluoride or cleaning chemicals are not removed by the action of brushing.
well brush your teeth first than use mouth wash!
i brush my teeth then use mouthwash i dont know why. it might be wrong but that just makes more sense to me

How often should I brush my yorkie (pic)?

    Here's a picture of her: https://mail.google.com/mail/?ui=2%26amp;ik=8c鈥?/a>

I keep her hair pretty much like that. I don't like it really long. How often should I bathe and brush her?How often should I brush my yorkie (pic)?
    Can not see the picture...

You bathe a dog once every month. Bathing too much will dry out the skin and make her itch. I'm guessing she has a 'puppy-cut' but, you still need to brush her a few times a week (2-3 times) to prevent mattes from forming. How often should I brush my yorkie (pic)?
Hello, I just got a baby Yorkie. From what I read, they need to be bathed as needed, but at least once per month if not every two weeks. Brushing should be done at least three times per week. I can't see the picture. You need to make sure that she is not afraid of the brush and so if you do it daily, they wouldn't be bad either.
    daily

I put a pony tail in my dogs hair and if i forget to take it out at night,I can see where a matt is about to start

do it daily, you can give your dog a bath weekly, only if you use a very mild dog shampoo, other wise by monthly

Yorke's can have oily hair,so you'll know best when yours needs a bath
okay, can't see the picture. if it's not long at all and you keep it like that, you shouldn't have to comb it, but if it's at least 1'; or longer, comb it everyday, don't brush because if there are matts, the brush will just go right over them.
    hi,

Although dogs do a lot to keep their coats neat and clean, they need your help with tasks that require opposable thumbs, such as brushing.

    here are some guidelines:

    http://tinyurl.com/6mbfjp

    hope this helps.
You should brush her daily. Bathe her about once every two weeks; though personally, I would bathe every three or four weeks, as long as she stays pretty clean.

And we cannot see the picture.
You should brush her daily. You can bathe her every 3 weeks or something.
You should brush her every other day and bathe her very often say twice a week or so.
Bathe her every month and brush her at least 3 times a week.
brush daily but make her hv a bath evey 4 th day

My one year old flips out when I try to brush his teeth?

He has 8 teeth, but he fights, kicks, screams and runs away if ';I'; try to brush them. I have the softest toothbrush possible, I've tried finger brushes but he hates those and just bites the hell outta me.. lol. So, is it effective enough to put the baby tooth paste on his tooth brush and let him sit there and chew on it for awhile? I don't know what else to do at this point..My one year old flips out when I try to brush his teeth?
My son did the same thing when we started brushing his teeth. I brushed them first and then let him ';brush'; them.My one year old flips out when I try to brush his teeth?
Could be the taste of the toothpaste. I'd experiment with a few until you find one he'll tolerate. And it should be just fine to let him chew on a little bit of it. The children's is safe to swallow.

I'd also try asking your dentist to recommend a soft toothbrush. The kind in stores may just not be soft enough.
yea same thing here.. my son started to freak out and stuff .. i went and bought him his favorite character toothbrush with spongebob toothpaste and we sing a song while we brush his teeth.. as soon as he lets you brush for even a second praise him right away then he'll start to understand its a good thing! Download ';You brush your teeth'; and play that to him everytime .. make it fun!
what flavor is the tootpaste? maybe that's the problem. Take him to the store with you and take him to the kid's toothpaste and show him some with different characters on it and see which one attracts him the most. Also get him a toothbrush with the character of his choice on it.

My niece used to hate brushing her teeth too, but we got her dora stuff and now she loves it!

Other than consequences such as your teeth will rot'; Give me a good tasting toothpasteto motivate me to brush?

Girls really like clean white teeth, with a great smile, and fresh breath with a kiss.

Is it healthy to brush your hair?

i'm a male with shorter hair (that's getting longer). I usually brush it to get the loose hairs out and was wondering if it's healthy for my hair. Thanks. Is it healthy to brush your hair?
    Of course it's healthy!!!!

Everybody should be brushing their hair...not unless it's too short to brush though.

:) xoIs it healthy to brush your hair?
of course! if you have curly hair, however, only brush your hair in the shower.

To prevent split ends when brushing, brush the ends of your hairs and work your way up, instead of ripping through knots from the scalp.

Also, to give straight hair more body, brush to the back of your head instead of straight down
its healthy xD brush ur hair offen might get less gray in ur hair and it also make it healthy :]
Yeah... When it's really short it doesn't matter as much though.
i rather brush my hair than comb it i love brushing my hair even when i get it cut

What is a spin brush do?

Looks like your question is two-in-one, huh? Depends on what you mean by a spin brush. Do you have one or know someone who does have? Is the brush a rather large round one, having long broom-like nylon fibers sticking out from the round disk and it is mounted on the end of a long aluminum metal tube and it is turned at an angle away from the end of the tube? Does the big round brush turn easily by hand round-and-round? And does the other end of the tube have a female water hose connecter that the male end connecter of a garden hose will make a water-tight connection with the ';spin-brush? If you hook the garden water hose to the spin brush and turn the water on to the hose, the water should spray out of the middle of the spin brush and rotate (spin) the brush at the same time. This is a special automotive vehicle washing brush. That's the only spin brush I know about.

Is it healthy to brush your teeth more than twice a day?

Yes, it's recommended that you brush after each meal, in the morning and at night. Is it healthy to brush your teeth more than twice a day?
it could damage your gums if you do it to oftenIs it healthy to brush your teeth more than twice a day?
Just be sure you're using a proper technique and a soft bristled toothbrush so you don't damage your gums. Three times a day or even more if you develop plaque quickly is fine. Keep in mind that chewing sugarless gum can be helpful to keep plaque at bay after eating as well, so it's not always necessary to brush.
Sure it is but most people do not make this a practice. After eating foods, it is recommended. Your teeth and gums will stay healthier by doing this every day.
yes it is supose to be done 3 times a day?
    more than healthy..
my dentist told me to brush after every meal which means 3 times a day! He told me to get an extra soft toothbrush and floss too!
Depending upon the toothpaste and toothbrush you use- you can brush to often. Although i brush after each meal and haven't had any problems. Ask your dentist about this concern! That's what they're there for. And of course what we pay them for. :)
    yes, duh!
i was living with someone for a few months and growing up she brushed her teeth pretty much whenever she could.. well im exaggerating a little but she told me that she brushed her teeth like 5 times a day or something like that and now she gets to live with dentures.. in my opinion thats kinda creepy.. im hoping i dont have to deal with those.. but the link below talks about overbrushing.. you should check it out and i hope it helps
no. if you ask your dentist he will tell you that you are in danger of overbrushing. you will find your teeth becoming more sensitive in time. twice a day is the recommended amount.
how many times do you eat? you supose to brush minimum 3 times a day! just dont brush to hard on your gums and dont forget your tongue!

What is that brush that they used in the nhl?

i saw it on some games, players use like a lint brush or something and clean there stick or something, its it lint brush, stick wax or something? What is that brush that they used in the nhl?
Probably just a hard brush to get the some of the snow/ice off the blade of the stick. Sometimes the snow gets stubborn and won't come off easily. What is that brush that they used in the nhl?
I think you brush the ice/snow or u put stick wax
It's a beater stick. Take a wooden extension plug and wrap a roll of tape backwards on it. When you rub the shaft and blade the sticky surface from the tape rubs off onto the stick.

It's a classic way to add grip to a stick, along with pine tar and ';candy cane'; tape down the shaft.

The grip coating that manufacturers put on sticks isn't liked by all players and it will peel quickly, so they need a way to get grip on the stick.

I personally hate the tackier styles of grip, I like a soft coating of rubber.

Well I am hoping this is for some project for school because not brushing your teeth leads to more problems like decay, gum decease, and bad breath.

    - If you are an aggressive brusher you can get areas along the gum line to recede known as ';root sensitivity or root exposure';

Also - You are supposed to wait at least 45min after you eat to brush when the acid levels are down in your mouth. So if someone has acid reflux they can be more prone to cavities because of the constant elevated acid levels in their mouth. Can someone give me a good reason not to brush my teeth ?????
So you can smite your enemies with your vile breath.
If you brush you could wear away the enamel. Also, brushing uses water, which is bad for the environment.
why would you not want to. yuck. at least use listerine if your not going to brush your teeth.

A good reason not to brush your teeth would be that you want to get dentures.
theres no good reason to not brush your teeth. there are good reasons to not brush thm too much..is this what you mean? You shouldnt brush them too much cuz it will wear out your enamel, but DEFINETLY brush at least 3 times a day, sorry there is no excuse to not do that.

twice a day, generally for about 2-3 minutes each time, but after hearing these answers, i'll be increasing that! I always gargle my mouthwash first though, then brush my teeth afterwards rather than the other way round.. Not sure why! I think it's because i dont like the lingering taste of mouthwash in my mouth.
Hmmmm, usually, around 2-3 minutes. Gosh, others can make it till 5? haha, the toothpaste's minty flavor might have ran out by then. But, I make it a point to brush at least 3 times a day. 5 to the most, coz I love chocolates, so I need to make up for it. LOL
This is what I do.. Brush for 3 minutes, Spit, Use Mouthwash, Brush retainer, Put retainer back in mouth then do whatever.
My dentist says brush for two minutes twice a day. I have an electric toothbrush which buzzes after two minutes, so it must be a recognised period of time.
In the morning, I brush the longest time, about 2 mins. but first I BRUSH, then rinse, then brush and then brush again, in total about 3 minutes.
Someone told me it needs about 3-4 minutes for the whole effect, because if you do it for less you could miss parts of your mouth.

GOOD question. I work at a dentists' office, and I can tell you I have seen some of the grossest mouths you ever seen. Alot of folks do not brush their teeth at all.How can people not brush their teeth?
    I rarely do it actually.

It doesn't really affect me, I mean my teeth still look good. But I never brush at night, and I occasionally brush them in the morning. I do floss when I get bored though.

It might sound strange, but I am a very hygienically-active person otherwise. Like I shower often and wash my hair like it's going out of style, but when it comes to my teeth, I don't know.

And my breath never stinks, because I'm always chewing sugar-free gum.
I do it whenever I possibly can, usually before bed or before the bus arrives. I used too have terrible hygiene when it came to dental care, I'm making it up before it gets any worse. Things have turned out for the better because of it, I'm more conscious about things then I was several years ago. I regret my lack of motivation and constant procrastination because I had several visits too a dentist for a while and it really didn't help with peer pressure in school and whatever else. I'm going off a tangent here, sorry.

Don't buy a cheap one though, go for the Sonicare or that new Oral B one. ';Crest Spinbrush Pro'; just won't cut it.
I have a sonicare toothbrush, and I love it. It's the best investment I have ever made. If you care about your teeth, then you'll want to get one. It's made my teeth so much whiter, and it's cleans deep between teeth and gums. I haven't heard anything about it loosening teeth. My teeth are perfectly fine. Haven't had any problems. So I wouldn't worry about it loosening your teeth.

i wouldn't see why not, as long as you dont swallow any of it you should be just fineI have been advised to have nil by mouth pre surgery. Does this mean I shouldn't brush my teeth?
    Hello,

(ANS) ';Nil by mouth'; literally means NOTHING should pass through or into your mouth before surgery. This is important %26amp; really means you must NOT eat or drink anything prior to the surgery, this is totally 100% normal and ALL patients are given this advise.

**especially important if you are under going gastric surgery.

**Eating %26amp; drinking uses up energy for digestion that the body needs in order to cope with the surgery %26amp; then the healing process. This is one reason people are asked not to consume anything before the operation.

Kind Regards Ivan.I have been advised to have nil by mouth pre surgery. Does this mean I shouldn't brush my teeth?
What I was told, years ago, was that I could aspirate (breathe) what was in my stomach and it would either cause an infection, cause me to choke/convulse and stop breathing, or cause pneumonia.

Brushing my teeth was allowed and with a few early show times (5AM and 7AM) for surgery Ican assure you that I (or my family members) were in bed well before midnight.

This is a really good article from a Professor (not me) in Asia and covers what has already been said by the others (and by me) in much greater detail

    http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?鈥?/a>

the anesthesiologist will instruct you to have nothing per orem at least six hours before surgery, the reason why an empty stomach is required is because os Mendelsons syndrome ( aka aspiration pneumonia )... during induction of general anesthesia there is a short period where the airway is unprotected if there is reflux of gastric contents, this occurs after the patient has slept and before the trachea is intubated ( tube in airway ),,, nothing per orem, antacids are some of the things we do do to lessen the risk of aspiration, even when regional anesthesia is contemplated the patient is still advised to be NPO ( nothing per orem ) 6-8 hours before surgery, sedation may be required in which case airway may be unprotected... in emergency situations wherein surgery may be required and the patient has a full stomach, we do what we call a ( RSI ) rapid sequence induction and intubation, in this case the time frame wherein the airway is unprotected is much shorter... i guess your next question would be why not do RSI all the time ? in RSI, there is still a risk of aspiration, furthermore, RSI carries with it an inherent risk because your induction time is rendered shorted the anesthetic is not as deep as one one have when doing a '; normal '; induction... attenuation of laryngeal responses to intubation ( tube in trachea ) are not blunted enough, may cause spasm of the airway, very high increases in high rate ( detrimental especially to patients with myocardial ischemia ) ...etc... however, the benefit you get when doing RSI in patients with full stomachs far outweights its negative effects...

PS ; somebody cited a journal where physicians where feeding patients before surgery, pls read that article carefully, those patients were undergoing surgery under LOCAL anesthesia...
The idea is that you have nothing in your stomach, to prevent you possibly being sick under anaesthetic. Cleaning your teeth is fine, as is using mouthwash, you don't swallow it do you?
You鈥檒l need to refrain from anything that causes salivation so it is perfectly OK to brush your teeth on the morning of the operation but just remember not to swallow any of the water.

You can brush your teeth and rinse your mouth. Not the end of the world if you end up swallowing a little water while doing so, but don't drink a glass of it.
You can brush your teeth but do not swallow any of the liquid. Hope your op goes all right
No of course not. You don't want to go to the dentist with un-brushed teeth. Good luck.
    no!

you can still brush your teeth, as long as you don't eat any toothpaste.
